Rajya Sabha TV workers required to disclose assets

Employees of Rajya Sabha Television have been asked to disclose their assets under a circular issued earlier this month.

The circular applies to ‘all professionals/employees of Rajya Sabha Television engaged/appointed on contract/ad-hoc/deputation/re-employment basis’. The form itself, is formatted under the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013.

Many of those employed at Rajya Sabha Television are on short-term contracts, with some even hired ad hoc on a daily wage basis. The circular issued this month was received with some bewilderment by the employees, especially the Heading (vii) of Form II, which requires them to disclose details of movable assets they own that could include ‘Aircrafts’ (sic), ‘Yatches’ (sic) and Ships.

The deadline for submission of the disclosure forms (in sealed covers with names and designations superscribed) is before September 15, 2014.
